How Your Cartoon Is Made
Here is a stage by stage guide to how we complete your cartoon.
Stage 1 - After your cartoon has been sketched out by one of our artists, it is then scanned into the computer and ready to be digitised.
Stage 2 - This is the beginning of the digitization process. We use the sketch in the background and trace over the lines with a vector tool.
Stage 3 - Once we have completely traced the image, we transfer it as a new vector file, erasing the pencil sketch underneath.
Stage 4 - We then fill in the black bits with an air bush.
Stage 5 - This is the colouring stage. We colour in all parts of the cartoon with the "fill" tool, keeping all colours realistic to the photo's.
Stage 6 - Once the colouring process is complete, we then add anything else that can't be done before hand, such as tattoos etc.
Stage 7 - Now it's time for the shading. As a rule, we generally shade as if the light source is coming directly from the right hand side.
Stage 8 - Completion. The custom cartoon is now ready to be printed or Emailed to you as a digital image.
